THE BLOG

BioPsySocial aims to provide a scientific and compassionate perspective on mental health research, practice, and ethics by incorporating biological, psychological, and sociological lenses. Topics also covered may be generally related to the brain, mind, behavior, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The blog was launched in May 2023 in Beirut, Lebanon.

THE PERSON

My name is Alexander Abi Saad, and I am a recently graduated medical doctor (MD) currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in psychiatry research. From my teenage years, I developed a keen interest in writing and blogging about various topics: from Taylor Swift to technology to science. I created bioPsySocial when I was still a medical student. As an aspiring psychiatrist, I now use this when I want to say something out loud about the mind, based on literature/books/media, and my own experiences. I am particularly interested in creative writing, OCD, personalized psychiatry, and AI. So, topics might often relate to those domains, but also others. At this stage, this blog is not meant to have a regular, frequent schedule but rather serve as an archive of ideas I believe I want to keep on the web in long form.
